I haven't u pdated this in forever! so I did, ha. I'm watching the Truman show now, Oh my word, it is so weird!!! Oh and I made a german klub xanga for my school.
Here's a picture that I think I'll make the background of the site. But anyway, I'll tell ya'll about how school is going over here.
God has helped me so much over here. He's given me so many oppurtunities to serve him, and he's blessed me with 2 great Churches. He's also blessed me so many amazing friends.
Yesterday was so much fun!! I got to help out with homeless ppl. You see in our bulletin it said that we can help out with them. So it was yesterday, and I get there, and there's about 8 Koreans in the room, that's it! No white ppl! So I was like, hm... I don't think this is the right place, cause sadly there's no orientals in our high school group, at least I don't think so. But it turned out that a lot of Churches come to help out. So I got to sort out clothes, and help them find the clothes they wanted, and got to serve them dinner. It was really fun and really cool to see their reactions.
Then I went to a free Jars of Clay and Phil Wickam concert, in Downey, about 35 minutes away, with my friend Kristi. It was so much fun! Phil played, but didn't even sing his big hit "grace." That was weird. Then they had the message, and the come to Jesus time. Then they said there was a 15 minute break before Jars of Clay started. So Kristi and I went to the front of the stage right where the lead singer microphone was. And no one else was standing up, but then lots of ppl started coming, so they could also have really good places. Both me and Kristi thought they would be ok, but they turned out to be FABULOUS, and amazing!! And they played their dead man (carry me) song, so I was so happy. So everybody in the band, is really into the music. Then it gets to their "revolution" song, so I'm like hey Kristi, "let's jump!" so we're front center, the only ones jumping. Then 5 seconds later, about 5 ppl around us start jumping, then practically the whole group is jumping!! It's so great! I guess we must be trend setters, :).
Trying to catch this phenomenon Is like trying to capture a flame Everyone wants to save the world But no one will take the blame And when will we learn The end result of our negligence Something’s wrong; it’s not quite right We have misplaced common sense
Excuse me But has anyone seen everyone’s dad?
‘Cause a boy is the only thing That God can use to make a man And a boy is the only thing That God can use to make a man
Point the finger at education And we curse the silver screen The prison system regurgitates And we wonder what does this mean And boys will be boys But not without a man called dad Something’s wrong; the boy moves on To try to live a life that he’s never had To try to live that he’ll never have
Look around the family is a dying breed And broken homes become majority And the future is always born from example So where are the men that God gave the responsibility to lead?
-Father's Song by Jonah 33
So many times we don't want to accept this as true, but it is!! Families are dying! Marriage is the art of bringing 2 into 1. How can part of the one say to the other part, I don't want you anymore, I'm leaving?! Our generation is so messed up, we need to offer hope during this time of hopelessness.
Here's what happens when you go to visit Wheaton College and you get to the end of the Billy Graham center, and you happen to be with your amazing Cousin KT. It's called Cloud Room Dancing.
Oh my word, Kingdom Bound was so much fun!!! Kingdom bound is a 4 day Christian music festival at a six flags park in buffalo, NY. Here's some pics of this great place.
Jonah 33, the coolest band ever! Their lyrics and music are amazing. I'm not sure what it is but they're so different from every other band out there. Maybe it's because they're so honest in their songs. Or maybe it's cause I realize how much I need God and how great his grace is. AnywaysI got to talk to them for about 10 minutes and I was so impressed. Cause most ppl think of bands as "2 cool 4 u" type. But Jonah 33 was totally not like that. They were all kind, polite, friendly and wanted to talk. Also most ppl think that bands are "perfect," but I got to see how bands are just normal ppl like we are. It's quite comforting to know that.
Falling Up, this band knows how to rock!!
They thought it was cool that I'm an MK from France, and I found out that the lead singer, Jesse, well his mom is from France too! So I found that so cool.
Matt Hamitt, the lead singer from Sanctus Real, such a great band. What I loved is that they were writing this song called "I'll be fine" and they ended up writing "I'm not alright," which talks about how life is hard even with God, we don't need to be perfect or happy all the time.
Ayiesha Woods, a really good hip hop singer.
Her single "happy" really moves me; it talks about how God makes us happy. And I'm so totally filled with joy whenever I hear that song, no matter what I'm going through.
